LEGAL AND BUSINESS ADVICE

An Enterprise Agreement takes away all those discussions about the relevant Award applicable to the variety of staff in a workplace. Awards become irrelevant and the work in a Payroll Office made so much easier. It also gets your team easier access on to building sites.

Our Legal Advisor, Warwick Ryan, has established an EA template for our members. Why not download the explanatory advice here and give Warwick a call (get his number from ASGA Head Office: 0448 274 211) to see how the EA can be tapered to fit your workplace.

A small cost could save you lots of worry.

Click here to download the EA Process.

Below is an interesting article where he discusses "Legal costs: who pays?"

"if the employer is going to have to pay their own legal fees whatever the result of the case, it's often going to be cheaper to pay an employee a few weeks' pay to settle the case at the beginning, rather than fighting it to the end and paying out substantial legal fees. This hardly feels like justice has been done if you had good reason to let an employee go in the first place.".

MORE REGIONAL CITY VISITS ACROSS AUSTRALIA

Following the success of our visit to North Queensland cities a month back, I think it important that we take up that idea perhaps on an annual basis and visit other rural cities in various States. It allows the opportunity to promote the excellent member benefits and hear of the special challenges our member companies face in their workplaces.

ACCREDITION PROJECT: UPSKILLING CURRENT STAFF SPREADS

We have thirty-one staff from metropolitan Sydney companies involved in an accreditation project that will, on its conclusion, enable their companies to take on apprentices. Now we have been able to link with Victoria Polytechnic and begin the same sponsored project that will lead to a full Cert III for the candidates. There are currently ten places available.

Contact ASGA Head Office on 0448 274 211 if you would like to secure a place or find out more information.

NOMINATIONS FOR STATE COMMITTEE POSITIONS

HVG Graphics Media appointed by Senfa as sole Australian distributor of Decoprint

HVG Graphics Media, a division of the Halifax Vogel Group, has been increasing its presence in the Large Format Digital sector and in the last seven years has opened new sites in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide while also expanding its Sydney distribution centre.

Alsace, France-based Senfa has appointed HVG Graphics Media as sole distributor of its Decoprint range of products for the Australian market.

Decoprint, the inkjet division of Senfa, has rapidly developed a presence in Europe and overseas with its high quality printable textiles for large format and super-wide applications. Its flagship product, Pearl, has become the reference for indoor backlit displays in Europe. However, the Decoprint range now also includes fabrics suitable for frontlit and speciality applications printable on all the main platforms (UV-curing, Latex, Solvent and direct and transfer sublimation).

We are a distributor of premium products for Visual Communication,” explains Richard Lucas – Business Manager of HVG Graphics Media. “With Senfa-Decoprint, we see a range of products that fit seamlessly into that category. The large-format digital print market is moving towards textiles for various reasons. Textiles are certainly more environmentally friendly and easier to transport than PVC banners and vinyls but the main reason people are moving over to textiles is that they simply look great, especially when used in conjunction with LED smart backlit displays.”

For more information on Decoprint range, please contact graphics@hvg.net.au
